RMS 7th & 8th Grade Music Ensembles & RMS Select Music Ensembles Trip to Dorney Park - Friday, May 19th, 2017

11/21/2016

Please click here to access the informational letter and permission slip about this year's trip to Music in the Parks Trip to Dorney Park taking place on Friday, May 19th, 2017.

It is typically expected that all members on the 7th & 8th Grade Bands along with all members of RMS Select Ensembles (such as Jazz Ensemble and Percussion ensemble) participate in the trip.   If there is a significant financial concern or any other concern, please do not hesitate your child's ensemble director.

We will need several parent/guardian chaperones.  There is a spot to indicate interest in chaperoning the trip on the online information form.

There is a 3-step process to sign your child up for the Dorney trip:

  1. Read this letter/permission slip fully.

  2. Fill out this online information form once for each child.  (The link for this form is also included in the permission slip.)

  3. Have the child return the signed permission slip along with the $100 payment by Friday, December 9th.
    1. Checks should be made payable to Randolph Middle School.
    2. Include the child's first & last name in the memo section of the check.
    3. If you are submitting a payment for multiple students (i.e. twins/siblings), please submit a separate payment for each child rather than lumping it together.  This will make keeping track of the payments significantly easier on our end.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
  • Band/Choir doublers should submit the permission form & payment to their band director.  That teacher will share the information with the choir director.

2016 Clarinet Christmas at the Rockaway Mall - Sunday, December 11th @ 1:30PM

11/21/2016

Good evening, families of RMS & RHS Band clarinet and bass clarinet students:

Please see the attached flyer for information about a Christmas performance at the Rockaway Mall in which our RMS & RHS clarinet students are invited to participate.

Ms. Jennifer Branch, a private clarinet teacher with which the Randolph Music Department works closely, is inviting clarinet players from around the area to the Rockaway Mall on Sunday, December 11th to play some holiday tunes in a clarinet choir (an ensemble made up of only clarinets and bass clarinets).

The music will be holiday pieces that all of our students could easily sight-read without practicing.  Over the past few years that this event has been held, we have had several students attend, and they have all really enjoyed playing in the event!  It's sure to be a fun experience, and I highly recommend checking it out.

Plus, you can finish your holiday shopping afterwards (.…or if you’re like me, you can start it!) - See below for info!

On a related note:  Mrs. Branch is a fantastic private clarinet lesson teacher located in the Ironia section of Randolph.  If any student is interested in beginning to take private clarinet lessons, please let me know, and I will put you in touch with her.

Hello!

Hoping this note finds you well:)  Here is information for the 2016 upcoming “Clarinet Christmas”.  I wanted to spread the word to any clarinetists who might like to play some carols, or to anyone interested in attending.  Feel free to print and post this PDF.  Here are the details:
